Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Hum Memo iOS application and its services ("Hum", "the Service"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Hum Memo records voice notes and uses transcription and AI to turn them into structured notes, tasks, calendar events, and searchable knowledge. Some features run on-device; others require our servers and third-party AI providers, and an internet connection.
2. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live). You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account; deletion is immediate and irreversible.
3. Subscriptions
- Paid tiers (Hum Pro and Hum Max) unlock features such as enhanced multilingual transcription, speaker recognition, knowledge graphs, and "Ask your notes". Feature quotas are shown at purchase.
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, auto-renew monthly or yearly until cancelled, and may include an introductory free trial that converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
- Manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
- Purchases are also subject to Apple's standard licensed-application terms (Apple Standard EULA).
4. Your content
Your notes are yours. You retain all rights to your recordings, transcripts, and notes. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the Service: storing your content, syncing it to your devices, and processing it (including via our AI and voice-processing providers) to deliver the features you use. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
Recording responsibly: you are solely responsible for complying with laws that apply to recording other people and enrolling their voices — obtain consent where required.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to violate laws or others' rights, attempt to break or overload the Service or other users' data isolation, or resell access. Quotas and rate limits exist to keep the Service fair; systematic circumvention may lead to suspension.
6. AI output
Transcripts, summaries, extracted tasks, and AI answers are generated automatically and may contain errors. They are provided for convenience, not as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. Review anything important — especially dates, commitments, and quotations — against your original recording.
7. Availability & changes
We work to keep the Service reliable but provide it "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Features may evolve; if we discontinue the Service or materially reduce a paid feature, we'll provide reasonable notice.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for damages arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health).
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these terms, with notice where practicable.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
